So what is the Urbanist? Honestly, it was many things to suits and creatives within our company. First and foremost it was probably a new biz tool we used to lure clients in. Showing them we didn’t just talk urban retail, we lived it. Second, it was probably our way of providing our social commentary on the state of advertising in big cities. Of course, for me, it was a way to sharpen my writing chops. I wrote pretty much every news issue from its inception in 2013 to the final issue in 2016. Plus, I got my day-to-day work done—so there’s that. Below are some of my articles.
